THE GREATEST OF ILLUSIONS

I’VE posted numerous times about my opinion regarding money and power, both human-created illusions that it’s possible have brought more misery to humanity, the biosphere and planet than any other individual factors, existing as I believe they do, beneath the fabled four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. My point, however is that they are not the only greatest illusions but they are human-made.


To these two, I am rapidly approaching the point where I will have to add a third: Time. H.G. Wells ...

WHAT’S A MINUTE, ANYWAY?

IF you said or thought 60 seconds, you’re right. As least according to the ancient Babylonians who used a sexagesimal (counting in 60s) system for mathematics and astronomy derived from the even more ancient Sumerians who were using it as early as 3500 BC (https://www.theguardian.com/notesandqueries/query/0,5753,-1487,00.html).


But, of course, that’s only when measuring time on Earth at an average distance of 94 million miles from the greatest time distorter in our nearby space neighborh...

AN ALTERNATIVE TO DYING

IF that doen’t catch your attention, then I fear nothing will. But it’s not just a literary hook. I mean to address the issue of how to escape this universe into which we’re so solidly tied. Call it “spiritual gravity” if you like, but the basic premise is that you can’t leave this universe unless you die.
